Seasons Overwhelm me

Summer rain hits different. Warm drops glide smoothly. Trees absorb what the clouds share, providing strength to grow Grow tall and tower over the sky, making shade. Underneath the ensemble of trees, darkness all around Leaves fall and glide through the wind– The same way I fell for you. Breaking off my roots, intertwining with yours Perfect could not even describe the lust, That came after I fastened to you. However then my green shine turned brown Crumbly bits that can break if stepped upon The downfall after bliss pays a visit. Summer monsoons hit different now Rain gets angry and causes a storm to prevail. However, I can’t take the hail The loud thump thump thump terrifies me. Expecting you to tell me not to worry Then realizing I’m alone to endure this storm. Summer rain has the ability to make plants blossom; Summer rain left pain shooting through my spine.

Serenity's Insanity

Serenity for now Letting it go, Insanity later. It's all over So take a bow, Serenity for now.  Used to hate her Now you'll date her, Insanity later.  Told to calm down So I whisper to myself,  Serenity now.  I fear the greater--  Feet getting cold, Insanity later.  In the end, they all leave  So I vow to never allow  Serenity now Insanity cleaved.

Is Love Worth the Pain... That is the Question

To attempt falling in love Or never know heartache  That is the question It fits like a glove  That suffocates me  To attempt falling in love He gives off a bad impression  Is this a risk to pursue  That is the question  A pair of graceful doves Shot by a hunter with perfect aim To attempt falling in love No freedom of expression  Yet where would I go next That is the question Love stories are a blur of  Never-ending transgression  Do I attempt to fall in love?  That is the question.

Relying on you

The house is falling apart At a loss of heart We relied on you When the screws were loose If a faucet was leaking Never thought to ask you how you do it The house hangs on  by loose threads  As it relied on you to lay the foundation Doing what my father couldn't do  Forgetting you weren't dad We relied on you To make dinner every night Then your body put up a fight Sending you in flight.  Lifeless on the kitchen floor We would not know your dinner anymore If I had known taco Tuesday would follow woeful Wednesday, I would've asked you what spices you used.

Insanity is Doing the Same Thing Twice

Insanity is doing the same thing twice,  But I did it three times. Exposed four words to you, Receiving not one in return. Spent five years hoping, The sixth my funeral; Not even seven guests. Eight times I'd begged for you back For you to say no nine times. I used to be your perfect ten, Sometimes an eleven, your heaven on earth.  Twelve steps to recovering,  But the thirteenth is falling in love again.

One Step at a Time

She practically skipped as she adjourned  Down the steep hill to the changing world Sun glistening off her smiling face  As she fastly paced Not because she was late, because she felt great.  Questioning: when does a human become a criminal? She pondered if it happened once they were educated  Or if a lack of education was the reason.  That back-row sulker who needed a mile,   But no one turned around; Everyone else racing for a seat in the front. Pausing in the middle of the hill, It occurred to her that: Narratives need to be rewritten.  Give someone an inch they take a mile, A negative connotation. Imagine that kid in the back  Handed an inch of hope What if they grabbed a mile?  She resumed her walking  Making it to the point where the ground was flat again, Feeling grounded.  As she turned the corner her heart got warmer Walking into this bright room, full of eager arms, She knew a journey had begun. As the kids spun around while singing a song She started to sing along  She didm&

After the Storm

After the rain finished a harsh storm Clouds found the ability to shift away Making room for the sun to peek out. Illuminating off her golden hair A rainbow of shiny hues Cascading shadows as she moved.  She skipped down the streets while The rainbow followed her winding journey Glowing from head to toe.  A face of crimson and gold Her smile forecasted the  Beautiful calm in wake of the storm.  Upon a downfall  She chose to raise her hand and Move the clouds away to Provide room for the suns enhancement; Ultimately creating an everlasting rainbow.
