After the Storm
After the rain finished a harsh storm
Clouds found the ability to shift away
Making room for the sun to peek out.
Illuminating off her golden hair
A rainbow of shiny hues
Cascading shadows as she moved.
She skipped down the streets while
The rainbow followed her winding journey
Glowing from head to toe.
A face of crimson and gold
Her smile forecasted the
Beautiful calm in wake of the storm.
Upon a downfall
She chose to raise her hand and
Move the clouds away to
Provide room for the suns enhancement;
Ultimately creating an everlasting rainbow.
this poem is so sweet! but something about it also feels dark. i love how you bind the two images together: that of the beauty and the harsh, ripping apart storm. i also love how you contrast the gold and crimson, and the assonance you employ throughout.
ReplyDeletethese are my favorite lines:
Illuminating off her golden hair
A rainbow of shiny hues
Cascading shadows as she moved.
i love the last line the most, this imagery is so beautiful.
